Solana DePIN sector's April revenue hits a new high for the year, with major projects performing exceptionally well.
Solana DePIN Track Revenue Hits New High for the Year, Main Projects Performance Review for April
The Solana ecosystem's DePIN track achieved its best performance of the year in April, with a monthly total revenue of $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%. This achievement is mainly attributed to the stable growth of several key projects.
Despite record high revenues, the number of active contributors to DePIN protocols has slightly declined. The major projects collectively maintain about 87,000 active contributors. Notably, in April, the number of contributors to small DePIN protocols saw significant growth, with some projects experiencing growth rates exceeding 100%, while the number of contributors to large protocols remained basically flat or experienced a slight decline.
The following is a review of the performance of major DePIN projects in April:
Dabba Network
Dabba Network is a DePIN project based on Solana aimed at the Indian market, deploying Wi-Fi hotspots in collaboration with local cable operators. From March to April, its cumulative data consumption doubled to 8000 TB, and device sales increased by 29%, further expanding the network scale.
Helium Mobile
As a mobile virtual network operator under the Helium network, Helium Mobile saw a 125% surge in new subscription users after launching its open free mobile plan, reaching 36,000 users. Monthly revenue hit a new high of $250,000, with data offloading accounting for 79%. The average daily offload subscription volume and offloaded data volume increased by 65% and 32%, respectively, both setting new historical records.
However, since 2025, the overall number of active contributors to Helium has shown a slight downward trend and is currently stabilizing at around 75,000.
XNET
XNET is a decentralized mobile network based on Solana. In April, the average daily data offloading volume of XNET increased by 16%, continuing an upward trend for 8 consecutive months. Despite a 6% decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors to XNET Mobile still grew by 6%, reaching a historic high of 732.
Roam
Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes and 87,000 new users in April, bringing the total number of nodes close to 4 million and the number of users close to 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume dropped by 19%, the cumulative check-in count has exceeded 300 million, indicating that user stickiness remains strong.
Shaga
The Shaga protocol utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games, currently covering 74 GPU models. In two months, Shaga achieved 4,500 interactive game live broadcasts, with a total duration of 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to participate in the host's games in real time.
Hivello
As a DePIN aggregation platform, Hivello's online duration in April doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
Nosana
Nosana is a decentralized GPU computing network based on Solana, focused on AI inference workloads. In April, the job completion rate and contributor rewards for Nosana saw a slight increase, while GPU nodes remained stable. The newly launched Gaianet AI collaboration project is expected to drive job growth.
Sallar.io
Sallar provides distributed computing support through idle computing power from devices such as smartphones. In April, the dollar rewards increased to $11,800, a month-on-month increase of 27%, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Grass
Grass utilizes the idle bandwidth of user devices to provide data sources for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services. The data collection volume in April reached a historic high, totaling 34.5 million GB.
Wingbits
Wingbits is an aviation data collection network based on Solana. Since November 2024, the number of tracked flights has increased to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, representing increases of 7% and 29%, respectively; the number of contributing sites has increased by 43%, reaching 3,000.
Hivemapper
Hivemapper is a decentralized mapping network. The mapping mileage remained stable in April, and its AI-driven fleet management platform Beekeeper was officially launched. Since February, the number of active map contributors has stabilized at around 5,000.
NATIX Network
NATIX Network collects street and geographic data through smartphones and dedicated devices. In April, user-driven mileage remained at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Sourceful Energy
Sourceful Energy focuses on decentralized virtual power plants, integrating distributed energy resources. In April, power output increased by 30%, and the newly launched Zap smart energy efficiency analysis device received 500 pre-orders, with growth expected to continue.
AmbiosNetwork
AmbiosNetwork is the largest-scale environmental monitoring DePIN in the world. In April, the cumulative user ecological data check-ins exceeded 2 million times, with a growth of 12%; the total number of platform users increased to 45,000, a year-on-year growth of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN ecosystem demonstrated strong growth momentum in April, with various projects making significant progress in different fields. Although the number of contributors to some large projects has stabilized, the rapid growth of emerging small projects has injected new vitality into the entire ecosystem. With continuous technological advancements and the expansion of application scenarios, the Solana DePIN track is expected to maintain a growth trend in the future.
